Dr. Azita Madjidi Plans Burn Reconstruction Mission Trip to Ho Chi Minh City in June By on May 28, 2013

Vietnam Burn Reconstruction Mission TripHouston, TX - Plastic surgeon Azita Madjidi is traveling to Ho Chi Minh City on a mission trip in June to perform burn reconstruction surgeries.

As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Azita Madjidi has dedicated herself to helping patients obtain their aesthetic goals and renew their sense of confidence. At her Houston practice, Dr. Madjidi sees patients on a daily basis who are looking to enhance their natural features through cosmetic surgery. However, Dr. Madjidi is aware that not everyone has the same means as her patients. That is why, as part of Dr. Madjidi’s mission to bring beauty and confidence to others, she has also committed to helping those who are not fortunate enough to seek out plastic surgery on their own. Dr. Madjidi offers help to these patients through the work she completes on mission trips around the world.

Dr. Madjidi took her first mission trip in 1991 and since then she has taken time to travel to poverty-stricken areas of the world, performing surgeries that best meet the needs of the locals from those areas. During these trips, Dr. Madjidi has repaired numerous cleft lips and palates, facial tumors, and other deformities. By lending her talent to patients in these areas of the world, she has brought beauty and confidence to patients who would not have had the means to seek out help otherwise.

Recently, Dr. Madjidi announced plans for her latest mission trip. In June, Dr. Madjidi will be traveling to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in Vietnam to perform burn reconstruction surgeries. While this work is quite different from the work Dr. Madjidi typically performs at her Houston plastic surgery practice, she will be using the same eye for aesthetics in order to provide patients with beautiful results. Just as Dr. Madjidi calls on her artistic talent when performing breast augmentation, tummy tuck, face lift, and other cosmetic treatments for her Houston patients at home, she will do the same in Ho Chi Minh City while performing skin grafts, contracture releases, and flap reconstruction for burn victims in Vietnam. Her surgical experience and artistic vision will bring confidence to these unfortunate victims.

Dr. Madjidi will be going on this trip with Surgical Volunteers International. She will be one of two plastic surgeons traveling with a team of anesthesiologists and nurses, all of whom will bring the medical supplies needed to safely perform these surgeries. The entire team is excited to bring their skill and talent to the unfortunate burn victims in this area.

While Dr. Madjidi is excited to embark on this important journey, she will, unfortunately, be absent from her own practice in Houston for 10 days. Fortunately, Dr. Madjidi’s patients have all been extremely supportive and understanding. Many have even offered to help in any way possible to ensure the success of Dr. Madjidi’s latest mission trip.
