Skin lightening, reducing brown spots By on January 17, 2013

There are many skin care products that claim improving skin tone and getting rid of the age and sun spots. They do not all work the same manner and have not the same strength. One product that I have been using for the past several years, in most of my patients' overall facial rejuvenation treatment, is Elure. Unlike bleaching creams that contain hydroquinone and stop the pigment production at the cell level, therefore deeper in the skin and longer result, Elure works on the pigments that are already on the skin surface. It breaks them up, therefore you see faster results.

How it works?

Elure contains an enzyme, Melanozyme, to break up the skin pigment, Melanin. Your body will get rid of what is left from the pigment. Because the pigments are mostly visible at the skin surface, you can already see your skin become luminous and even toned at four weeks! The product comes in two components, first the enzyme is applied to the skin, then the activator.

When should I start Elure?

Any time, but in order to have an even faster action and not waste the product, I recommend to my patientsto have a chemical peel the week before starting Elure. You don't want the product to have to go through a thick layer of dead skin cells before reaching the pigments.

Is Elure rigth for me?

During our visit, I can see how your skin tone is to begin with. For patients who have very dark pigmentation, I may combine Elure with a bleaching cream to get a better result.

How long before I see any result?

Most of skin care treaments are a long term treatment. In average you need about three months before you see any result. However, with Elure you may already notice the improvement at four weeks! The reason is because it treats directly the pigments at the skin surface.
