Skin tightening with injectable radiofrequency
If you suffer from skin laxity under the chin and over the neck, arms, abdomen, above the knees or any other area, you may be a candidate for ThermiTight, a minimally invasive nonsurgical treatment. It produces meaningful cosmetic results superior to those with non-invasive devices or over-the-counter treatments. Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Azita Madjidi performs nonsurgical skin tightening using ThermiTight, in a single treatment.
How is it done?
The area to be treated is injected with an anesthetic solution and a small probe is introduced to deliver monitored heat under the skin. ThermiTight uses radiofrequency to generate heat which stimulates formation of collagen and leads to skin tightening. The treated area is seen on an infrared camera screen to assure proper heat distribution and delivery. ThermiTight is performed in the office and lasts about one hour. There are no incisions or suturing involved. It is a single treatment which lasts about one hour.
Who is a candidate?
Any area with mild to moderate skin laxity such as the neck, jowls, arms, back, and abdomen or above the knees may be treated with ThermiTight. The level of heat can be varied to either tighten the skin, the fascia or melt fat. It does not replace liposuction but it can help improve the result. Patients who have had facelifts year ago and experience some laxity or are not quite ready for it yet are great candidates.
Recovery and result
Downtime is minimal. It is a quick and easy procedure. For the neck, a gentle support band is worn for up to 72 hours to control swelling. Patient may resume normal activity the next day. Bruising may happen and will resolve with time. There are no incision or sutures. Treatment is only performed once. Skin tightening appears within a few weeks. Results last for a few years since the aging process continues.
