Body Contouring After Weight Loss
Conveniently located to serve Houston, Sugar Land and Pasadena
If you have recently lost a significant amount of weight, you may find that your body does not accurately reflect your achievement. Weakened muscles and stretched skin can result in a lack of definition and can make it appear as though you are still carrying extra weight. After massive weight loss, body sculpting from Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Azita Madjidi can tighten or remove stretched tissues to restore definition to your contours, allowing you to fully enjoy your healthy new size and lifestyle.

Am I a Candidate for Body Contouring?
Before you undergo body sculpting, you must be at a stable weight. Dr. Madjidi typically recommends that you wait at least six months after you reach your weight loss goal before undergoing cosmetic surgery. As a body sculpting candidate, you should be a non-smoker, and you should have no serious health conditions. Dr. Madjidi will work closely with your primary physician and bariatric surgeon, if applicable, to ensure your candidacy for body sculpting and to determine the best surgical treatment for you.
Individualized Treatment
Body sculpting can address virtually any area of the body, and the procedure will be completely customized for you. Common procedures performed in body sculpting include:
- Tummy tucks
- Thigh lifts
- Arm lifts
- Face lifts
- Neck lifts
- Breast lifts
For your safety and cosmetic satisfaction, Dr. Madjidi will help you determine the right procedures for your needs.
What Should I Expect?
Every patient has different needs, and no two body sculpting treatment plans are the same. During your consultation, you and Dr. Madjidi will discuss whether to use IV sedation or general anesthesia. Immediately prior to surgery, an anesthesiologist will be present to administer the chosen method. Dr. Madjidi will create incisions in the natural folds of your skin. Dr. Madjidi will take care to place incisions in a way that will result in the least prominent scars possible. The exact size and locations of the incisions will depend on the areas you wish to treat. After making the incisions, the doctor will gently lift the skin and tighten the underlying muscles, if needed. She may use liposuction to gently suction out stubborn fat deposits. Finally, she will remove any excess skin before carefully closing the incisions.
Recovering from Your Body Contouring
To improve your healing, safety, and comfort, Dr. Madjidi typically performs body sculpting in stages. If possible, she will first address the areas that have a high priority for you. Recovery from body sculpting varies depending on the procedures you choose to include. You should plan to take some time off from work, and Dr. Madjidi will advise you about how soon you can return to more strenuous activities. Even before your recovery is complete, however, you will begin to notice the results of your body sculpting.
The Cost of Body Contouring After Weight Loss
The cost of your body contouring procedure will vary based on the type of procedure performed and the amount of procedure performed. Dr. Madjidi can address any question you may have about the price of body contouring in Houston during your consultation at our office. Financing options are available.
