Dr. Madjidi accepted the honor at the organization’s annual Clinical Congress in Chicago last October, in front of an estimated 14,161 people.

By meeting the College’s stringent membership requirements, fellows of the College earn the distinguished right to use the designation of “FACS” (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after their names. The American College of Surgeons is a scientific and educational organization that was founded in 1913 to raise the standards of surgical practice and to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient. The College is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of surgery and has more than 78,000 members, making it the largest organization of surgeons in the world.

Dr. Madjidi’s medical background extends far beyond being a pioneer in plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery. The renowned Houston plastic surgeon received a medical doctorate in 1991 from Caen Medical University in France, where she became board certified in Maxillofacial Surgery and Stomatology. Her desire to change the world by enhancing the lives of others became evident when she was awarded the prestigious position of Chief of Clinics-Assistant in Pediatric Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery at a hospital in Paris.

From correcting cleft lips and palates to performing transformative reconstructive surgeries, the Houston plastic surgeon understood the power of surgery and how her talent and skills could make a lasting impact on the medical field and the lives of her patients.
